The Ruckus Society facilitated a 3-hour Nonviolent Direct Action workshop for Unbound: Harvard Journal of the Legal Left at their Spring Symposium yesterday. Approximately 50 participants braved the snowstorm to come to a training from 9pm to midnight on a Friday night. Ruckus trainers Charlie and satya led the group of mostly first-year law students through exercises defining direct action and nonviolence, some basic strategy work to make actions effective, as well as how to de-escalate conflicts during actions.
